The Collective exhibition "Cultural Diplomacy - Balkan Dialogue" from the Republic of North Macedonia is visiting Sofia on the occasion of the celebration of May 21 - World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development of UNESCO. At the initiative of the United Nations, a joint declaration was adopted on May 21, 2001, aimed at promoting the diversity of national cultures in the world. Since then, the celebration of the Day of Cultural Diversity has begun and events, celebrations and concerts have been organized to show empathy, understanding, respect and acceptance of different national cultures in the name of dialogue and development between all of us.

The initiative of this exhibition is of the State Institute for Culture under the Minister of Foreign Affairs, DOBREDOJDE Cultural Association (Macedonia Welcome Center), IKON Cultural Association, the Bulgarian Cultural and Information Center in Skopje and the Macedonian Cultural and Information Center in Sofia. The Bulgarian Telegraph Agency is the media partner.

This group exhibition was successfully presented at the National Gallery of the Republic of North Macedonia in Skopje in December 2021, where provoked real interest among guests and diplomats, connoisseurs of contemporary art. The Balkans as a territory have a strong spiritual and ethnocultural energy, art brings us closer and makes us free. The exhibition has the idea to become a crossroads in the development of painting between the two neighboring countries. Seven Bulgarian artists take part in it: Svetlin Rusev, Stanislav Pamukchiev, Ivaylo Mirchev, Lyuben Genov, Dimitar Cholakov, Milko Bozhkov and Roman Kisov, and seven artists from Republic of North Macedonia: Vladimir Georgievski, Pavle Kuzmanoski, Dimitar Malidanov, Reshat Ameti, Zaneta Gelevska-Veljanoska, Petar Popchev and Nikola Ivanov - Balton. This "meeting" in the field of painting of the 14 contemporary artists from Republic of Bulgaria and Republic of Norht Macedonia is in fact an improvised meeting between people, through which to build friendship and dialogue.

The exhibition "Balkan Dialogues" is a part of the annual program of the State Institute for Culture under the Minister of Foreign Affairs which attracts and promotes projects illustrating the Balkan dialogue in action in the field of fine arts, cinema, literature and more.

The exhibition can be viewed from May 18 to June 10 at the Mission Gallery. The catalog to the collection will be presented at the opening event.
